Past Portal

Designed and created a 3D and augmented reality experience drawn from a prompt, “What IF?”. I took this prompt personally, by asking myself, “What if I was born in Korea?”.

I am a Korean American, born in the States, raised in South Korea, went to high school in Indonesia, university in San Francisco, goes to Bangkok to see my parents, and currently is based in Pittsburgh. I went through lots of identity crises and had to adjust myself to different countries almost every 3–4 years. Through this project, I was able to reflect on myself and design my life in a multiverse.

Then I developed an AR experience, where it’s possible to see the portal on a smartphone device, at a real scale.
